Sizes, Shapes, Weights and Characteristics
Boths of Kobo Touch & Kindle Touch are nearly similar in sizes, shapes, weights and Characteristics.
Kindle Touch Size that label on the box is 6.8″ x 4.7″ x 0.40″ , 7.5 ounces in weight, 6″ (diagonal) E-ink pearl Touch Screen.
Similar to Kobo Touch, It’s label size 6.5″ x 4.5″ x 0.4″, 7.05 ounces in weight, 6″ (diagonal) E-ink pearl Touch Screen.
But when compare side by side you can see a difference between these two ereaders E-ink screen. Kindle Touch is by far the sharpest and clearest of the two screens and appears to have higher contrast – the difference between the surface and the text makes Kindle Touch look black and white, while Kobo Touch has text that appears grey. This is really big advantage of Kindle Touch, because read screen function is Major Fnc. for Ereader.
Battery lifes & Memory Storages
Kindle Touch Battery life claimed that a single charge can lasts up to 2 months if you turn the wireless off and read for an hour a day. Kobo Touch only claims 1 month battery life in same condition.
Kindle Touch Memory Storage comes with 4 GB can store 3,500 ebooks, No expandable memory usb function, But it has Free unlimited cloud storage for Amazon content, So there’re no limit storage for Amazon Kindle ebooks. The Kobo comes with 2 GB internal memory storage but you can connect to expandable outside memory Up to 32 GB (microSD), So It can store ebooks around 30,000 ebooks.
Functional
The Most Important parts that you buy Ebooks Reader is the Reading Function of ereader. First About Ebooks Page Turning, The Way to do it in boths Touch Screen Ereader is to swipe right to left starting from the right hand side of the page. Or you tapping on it. Kindle Touch is pretty much faster than Kobo Touch. In My thought, this will be one of the biggest and Major function that Kindle Touch win Kobo Touch. Kobo Users complain about this lag of screen so much.
Kobo Touch Page Turning Speed Video Reviews
The Second important part that Canadian ereader users concern are about the part of borrowing ebooks from nearly local canadian libraries. Kobo Touch win this in Canadian because of its support Epubs format because most of canadian libraries ebooks use this file type. For Kindle Touch the main local libraries borrowing through Overdrive – That is on experimental in canada and may be grow up in future, But for Now Kindle Touch users that want to borrow ebooks from local canadian libraries must learn to Strip DRM and convert ebooks format to epubs before load to their Kindles – This will easier when you used to do that onced, It will hard to do that in the first time.
Ebooks Accesibility in Canada
There are Different Ebooks accessibility system for these two ereaders. Kindle Touch system was made specific to Amazon, While Kobo Touch system uses Epubs format which now widely adopted around the world.
Amazon has a grand collection of ebooks available ~ 900,000 up. But because of the DRM copyright, Users allow to get ebooks from Amazon only – Its Native format supporting are Kindle (AZW), TXT, PDF, Audible (Audible Enhanced (AA, AAX)), MP3, unprotected MOBI, PRC natively; HTML, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP. Anyway there are many method to Stript out this DRM copyright and convert it to your kindle but will take you a time to do that. While Kobo, with the Epub software – Its Natively support EPUB, PDF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TIFF, TXT, HTML, RTF, MOBI, CBZ, CBR. Kobo can claim 2.4 million titles available in some 80 outlets including, importantly, lending libraries ebooks in Canada.
Canadian Kindle Users buy ebooks from Amazon.com in US dollars, While Kobo ebooks store – you can buy in canadian dollars due to its company in Canada. The prices, however, tend to be higher in Kobo, But will compensate with many special offers for canadian such as coupon discount code.
For summary, you might be lead to believe that the Kindle locks you into Amazon and that the Kobo is far more open, but in reality the Kindle behaves identically no matter where you buy your books, whereas the Kobo experience is very clunky for books bought outside of the eco-system.

My Experience in Kobo,
This is a Comparison of the small company KoBo on the big company Amazon. My exp. major on a Customer Service points, Amazon as a big company do this very well & good support – When you get problems with your kindle you can contact customer services easily even you are in canada and you will get it fix soon. While Kobo as a small company does it suck. Because Kobo has decided to outsource their Customer service to St. Lucia the jewel of the Caribbean where the locals, it appears, have had no real tech training on the devices they are servicing. They make it difficult if not impossible to get an RMA for a warranty device and I literally have been trying since Febuary, 2012 to get my device fixed. Luckily I can access my books on my Iphone or else I would have lost all the books I have purchased.
There is no way to contact the Canadian front office and the phone numbers for the main office’s always refer you back to the offshore Customer service centers. CEO Michael Serbinis has been very vocal about his desire to make the Kobo a competitor in the U.S. but Customer Service standards must be much lower north of the border if he thinks this kind of service will fly here. Good Luck With That!
Also, the Kobo branded itself solidly with borders and the partners for all appearances seemed as one entity but Kobo quickly dispelled that appearance when they immediately stopped taking borders gift cards when Borders file for Bankruptcy.
So, My advice is to stay away from Kobo until they can work out their Customer service issues or drop the price point low enough that poor Customer Service support would be acceptable. As of now the Kobo and similar ereader/tablets all come in at the same price point of under $200 USD.
